Our Mission
To promote the personal character and athletic development of those players who wish to excel at the highest level of hockey competition. To enhance player development by providing professional hockey education and physical training. To provide experienced coaches and trainers to assist players in reaching their highest level. To assist and promote player advancement to the βnextβ level for each athlete. To seek educational opportunities for the student athlete and to aid them in those opportunities. To build interest in hockey through fostering community spirit and involvement. To develop our players both on and off the ice and advance them to NAHL, USHL, NCAA and professional levels.

We believe that showing our players different colleges over the course of the season helps them get an idea of what they may like or dislike. Thatβs what junior hockey is all about. Itβs helping prepare them for when they have to make that college decision and that they are confident in their decision.

PAUL PECHMANN - GM/HEAD COACH
Coach Pechmann is now entering his fourth season with the Riverkings and has a record of 99-38-14. Coach is married to his wife Renee, an oncology nurse; he has four children (Noelle, Paul, Ciera and Zachary), and three grandchildren. Coach Pechmann played hockey at South Kent Prep School and went on to play for the NCAA UCONN Huskies. He has been coaching for over 20 years and has helped numerous players reach their goal of playing in the NCAA, ACHA, and various pro leagues. Coach Paul is also an NCDC and NAHL scout for several teams. He brings a wealth of coaching and life experience with him to the Riverkings organization where he will continue to lead the charge of the Riverkings winning legacy and more importantly, the legacy of helping develop young men in preparation for college and life leadership. Coach Pechmann has a large network of college coaches that he has developed throughout his years in youth, junior and college hockey. Coach has and will continue to leverage these relationships to help incoming Riverkings hockey players in reaching the next level.

RICH BROUWER - ASSISTANT COACH
The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings are excited to welcome Rich Brouwer to their coaching staff. Coach Rich brings more than 20 years of coaching experience at the youth, junior, and collegiate levels, along with a proven track record of developing players both on and off the ice. Most recently Coach Rich served as Head Coach of the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) Seahawks in ACHA D2 for six seasons, where he led the program to its first-ever regional tournament appearance and achieved the highest Southeast Division ranking in school history. He was also named ACC Premier Division Coach of the Year for the 2024β25 season. Brouwer's coaching resume includes winning Hockey National Championship with the Carolina Junior Hurricanes 18U AA team in 2017. He also served as Hockey Director for the Junior Seahawks/Icehawks travel and house programs for twelve years, working in player development across multiple age groups. As a player, he captured an NCAA Division II National Championship with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1983 β the first national title in the schoolβs history.
