Riverkings Promoted to NCDC; New Affiliation with Dells Ducks Premier Team.

The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings proudly announce that the organization has been officially promoted to a new Division in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC), marking a major milestone in the program’s history and continued rise within the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL).

This advancement reflects the quality, consistency, and professionalism of the Riverkings organization—both on and off the ice. Years of strong performance, successful player development, and organizational stability have earned the club the confidence and support needed to elevate to USPHL NCDC Tier 2 hockey, one of the premier junior pathways in the nation. The increased expectations and higher standards of NCDC competition align directly with the culture built by Riverkings management and staff.

In conjunction with this promotion, the Riverkings are also announcing a strengthened organizational structure through a new affiliation with the Dells Ducks Premier team. This partnership extends beyond player development and directly into a shared ownership, creating a unified pathway for athletes and reinforcing both programs’ dedication to long‑term growth, stability, and opportunity.

For more than a decade, the Riverkings have been a cornerstone of the USPHL Premier Division, producing top‑caliber athletes who advance to NCAA and ACHA programs, professional leagues, and successful careers beyond hockey. The team’s legacy is carried forward not only through on‑ice achievements but also through the academic, leadership, and community contributions of its alumni.

Head Coach Paul Pechmann expressed his enthusiasm for the new chapter ahead: “Our players, staff, and community have worked tirelessly to build something special here. Moving to the NCDC is a testament to that commitment, and the strengthened affiliation with the Dells Ducks only enhances our development model. We’re ready to compete at the next level.”

The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings look forward to embracing this new challenge and continuing their mission of developing elite players prepared for college hockey, professional opportunities, and success in life.
