Congratulation to James Deubel, former Riverkings defenseman who wore number 3 on the 2023-24 team that advanced to the USPHL National Tournament. James is currently at Liberty University playing on the ACHA D3 team. Liberty won the National Championship with a win over St. John Fisher and ended the season with a sizzling 19-game win streak.
The Flames outscored their five tournament opponents by a 32-4 margin, and finished with a 3-0 shutout over St. John Fisher (NY) University. Liberty celebrated their first National Championship trophy and was impressive with only two loses the entire season, finishing 26-2. Liberty will reportedly move up to AAU Division II next season.
James is one of many Riverkings alumni playing competitive collegiate hockey (NCAA and ACHA) including former players that advanced to division championships and went on to play in nationals at both the D1 and D3 levels.
