Riverkings add to coaching staff
The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings have added two assistant coaches to their staff for the 2023-2024 season.
Travis Marsh
Travis Marsh is a native of Burnsville, Minnesota where he played his youth hockey. He played for Gentry Academy in high school. While at Gentry Academy, he began coaching at Northern Edge as a skating and skills coach. After playing 2 years of varsity, he decided to play for the Minnesota Revolution AAA club. In 2015, Travis played in the NA3HL for the Breezy Point North Stars and eventually wound up with the Steele County Blades in 2016. Following his junior career Travis began coaching and became an assistant coach at Farmington High School. He coached Farmington High School varsity hockey from 2017-2019, building a strong relationship with the players and community. Travis is a level 3 certified USA coach. Travis looks forward to being an approachable and supportive coach for not only the players, but also for the head coach and community of Wisconsin Rapids
Harrison Nagel
Harrison Nagel began his playing career in Mound, MN, where he played through high school. He was a four-year letter winner, a two-year all conference winner, and a one-year all conference honorable mention. After his freshman year, he was coached by NHL defenseman Nate Schmidt at Phase 5 of the Minnesota High Performance Program, which included a week-long camp in St. Cloud with the top 102 ranked skaters in Minnesota. As a senior, he was a Reed Larson award finalist for the top defenseman in the state. In 2018, he joined the North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL and helped bring the team to a divisional championship and to the Fraser Cup semifinals. During the offseason, Hank was drafted by the Minnesota Magicians in the 2019 NAHL entry-level draft. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during offseason training that required multiple surgeries and ended his playing career. In the past few years, he has been a scout for the North Iowa Bulls as they transitioned to the NAHL. Now, as a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota with a major in accounting and finance, Hank is excited to continue his hockey career as an assistant coach for the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings.
The Riverkings are excited to have both coaches be a part of our junior hockey program and to get to experience this special community with us.
